We hear the constitution referred to everyday, but What does it mean? Remember one thing. THE CONSTITUTION IS THE LAW FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. . It is not the law for the citizens, It is the Law that enumerates what congress is allowed to do, It was supposed to be very limited. It can be amended or changed in a specific process, allowed in the Constitution.
Problem is most Americans like the Constitution we have, it has protected us from would be tyrants, and out of control Legislators for 200 years.
It has not protected us fully, because we have gotten lazy and are busy with our lives and just let things up to the people we elect.
We assume they are working for the best interest of all of us, and within the boundaries of the constitution.
But recent events have brought home LOUD AND CLEAR. They are not looking out for our interests,
Whose interests are foremost in their priorities.
I believe it is different for all of them, but whether the Party comes first, or their favorite contributor It is more obvious than ever, it is not the people , who they are supposed to represent.
How can we bring them back to reality?
We can do it!
We need a plan
Two Plans, one for now and a long range plan for the long term.
LONG RANGE PLAN
This will take years to accomplish, but it must be the goal.
1, THE ELIMINATION OF ALL POLITICAL PARTIES.
2. CUT CONGRESS SESSIONS TO TWO 30 FOR 40 DAY PERIODS.
3. CONGRESS MUST KEEP AND OFFICE IN THERE DISTRICT, AND ONLY HAVE TEMPORARY OFFICES IN WASHINGTON.
3. LEGISLATION MUST BE PROPOSED IN THE CONGRESSIONAL RECORD . ALL PROPOSALS MUST BE WRITTEN,, NO DEBATE IS PERMITTED EXCEPT IN PUBLIC ON THE FLOOR OF CONGRESS OR ELECTRONIC OR WRITTEN DIALOGUE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
4. ANY COLLUSION ON LEGISLATION, TRADING VOTES OR POLITICAL BRIBERY , WOULD BE A FELONY, IMPEACHMENT AND POSSIBLE JAIL TERMS. ALL DEBATE MUST BE IN PUBLIC
5. NO LEGISLATION COULD BE PASSED IN THE SAME SESSION AS INTRODUCED
6. SENIORITY IS BANNED, ALL CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS ARE EQUAL.
I believe this is a good start, I hope someone will be able to add some good ideas.
Lets stop gripping and work on a plan, this is long term, but next time we will talk about short term goals and how to get there.
